In the app (quickest)
- Open NewTunes ZA and sign in to the account.
- Go to the Library tab and scroll to the bottom (artists can also use the bottom of the For Artists tab).
- Tap Delete account, type DELETE and tap Delete forever.
It happens straight away.
Without the app
Email shepherdmark1968@gmail.com from the email address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my NewTunes ZA account". We'll delete it within 30 days and let you know when it's done.
Delete some of your data and keep your account
You don't need to delete your account to remove specific information:
- Likes: tap the heart on a song again. The like is deleted straight away.
- Follows: open the artist and tap Following. The follow is deleted straight away.
- Songs (artists): in the For Artists tab, tap the bin next to a song. The song, its cover art and its likes are deleted straight away.
- Profile details (artists): in the For Artists tab, tap the pencil next to your name to change your name, bio, town or photo. The old photo is deleted when you choose a new one.
- Anything else (for example your play history or your song reports): email shepherdmark1968@gmail.com from the address on your account and say what you'd like deleted. We'll do it within 30 days and keep nothing beyond what's listed under "What we keep" below.
What gets deleted
- Your login (email address and password).
- Your likes, follows and song reports.
- If you're an artist: your artist profile and photo, all your songs, their cover art, and their play, like and follower counts.
What we keep
- Plays you made of other artists' songs stay in those songs' totals, but are no longer linked to you.
Listening as a guest (without an account)? Your likes and follows are tied to the app on your phone and aren't linked to your name or email. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes your access to them.
